Why visit the Blue Cave?

The Blue Cave is famous for its mesmerizing blue light that illuminates the cavern at specific times of the day and is renowned for its stunning natural beauty.

This tour should be an essential part of your Hvar itinerary, especially if you’re a photography enthusiast or adventure seeker. Located in a small bay on the east side of Biševo island near Komiža (Vis island), the cave has become a significant tourist landmark of Croatia.

There are several compelling reasons to explore this cave, including the breathtaking natural phenomenon of the glowing blue light and its magical atmosphere. The stunning surroundings of Biševo Island feature impressive landscapes and secluded beaches, along with rich history dating back to ancient Roman times.

What can you expect on this boat tour?

The journey begins in Hvar (meeting point arranged by us) and includes multiple destinations, with the Blue Cave being the highlight. Our first stop is typically the Green Cave and Budikovac Island. The Green Cave, accessible only by boat, is unique for its green light phenomenon created by sunlight reflecting off the water. The next stop on this tour is Budikovac Island with its mesmerizing Blue Lagoon, perfect for swimming or photography.

Following Budikovac, our boat visit the famous Blue Cave. During summer, there’s usually a queue, so you’ll receive a number and wait for your turn. While waiting, you can relax at a nearby café or grab a meal. Due to the cave’s narrow entrance, you’ll transfer to a smaller boat for the cave visit. Afterward, your skipper will meet you at the pier to continue to Stiniva Beach, one of Croatia’s most famous beaches known for its dramatic setting and intimate atmosphere surrounded by high cliffs. You can stay here as long as you wish.

The final stop is the Pakleni Islands, where you’ll have the longest break. You can enjoy lunch, drinks, or simply relax in nature by the sea on this island. On the return journey to Hvar, your skipper will show you other Pakleni Islands. The tour includes a skipper, fuel, beverages (water, soft drinks, or your choice), and snorkeling gear.

What is the best time to visit the Blue Cave?

The optimal period for this tour is from May to September when weather conditions are ideal and the experience is at its best. The sun’s position during peak summer creates the most vibrant blue light. Morning or early afternoon visits (around 11 AM to 12 PM) are recommended to best experience the cave’s famous blue illumination. Morning visits are also advised to avoid peak crowds, especially during high season when wait times may be longer.

How to book your spot for this trip?

Reservations for the Blue Cave tour can be made via WhatsApp or email, with 24/7 availability. Early booking is recommended as spaces are limited, particularly during high season. Pricing varies by boat choice:

Both options include fuel, skipper, drinks, and snorkeling gear. A non-refundable 30% deposit is required upon booking. In case of adverse weather conditions, we offer a full refund or the option to reschedule for another day.
